FIELD VISIT TO THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR MENTAL HEALTH (NCMH), MARZOEKI MAHDI HOSPITAL

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the Department of Psychology at Universitas Pembangunan Jaya conducted a field visit to the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH), Marzoeki Mahdi, located at Jl. dr. Sumeru No. 114, Bogor City. This activity was attended by 111 students currently enrolled in the Abnormal Psychology and Psychodiagnostics courses.

The event began with a welcoming speech by Atik Puji Rahayu, S.Kep., Ners., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.J, Head of the Innovation and Development Unit at NCMH. The visit was guided by NCMH staff and accompanied by three faculty members: Bunga Karuni, M.Psi., Psikolog; Maria Jane Tienoviani Simanjuntak, M.Psi., Psikolog; and Ellyana Dwi Farisandy, M.Psi., Psikolog, along with four teaching assistants.

Students received an overview of the history and services of NCMH and had the opportunity to visit several wards. During the visit, they conducted direct observations and interviews with both staff and patients on topics such as psychological disorders, psychological assessments, psychological interventions, and the implementation of psychodiagnostic principles within the facility.

The program continued with a presentation delivered by Armelia Rahmi Kartika Dini, S.Psi., Psikolog, one of the psychologists at NCMH. This session concluded with an interactive and enthusiastic discussion and Q&A segment.

Through this field visit, students are expected to enhance their theoretical and practical understanding of psychological assessment and intervention, while gaining real-world insights into the treatment of psychological disorders at the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH).
